**** SANJAY VASHISTH , J. (Oral) Prayer in the instant petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 & 4, to provide protection of lives and liberty of the petitioners, who have married against the wishes of private respondents. Counsel for the petitioners states that he had filed the requisite process fee for issuance of notice upon the private respondents. However, no one has put in appearance on behalf of private respondents. Therefore, in view of this present petition can be disposed of by directing respondent No.2 in regard to examine representation dated 01.11.2022 (Annexure P-5), which is already submitted by the petitioners.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - Sr. Superintendent of Police, Amritsar, to look into the representation dated 01.11.2022 (Annexure P-5), qua threat perception, and if there is any substance in it, take necessary steps, in accordance with law, to ensure that the lives and liberty of the petitioners is JAWALA RAM 2022.12.16 16:48 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgement.

CRWP- 10526 -2022 - 2 - not jeopardized at the hands of the private respondents. However, this direction will not validate the marriage said to have taken place between the parties and will have no effect on any civil or criminal action, which could be initiated in the matter in accordance with law.
