Rekha Mehra v. Jaswinder Singh
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT
CHANDIGARH TA-568-2016 (O & M) Date of decision: 08.12.2016 Rekha Mehra ....Applicant V/s Jaswinder Singh
...Respondent(s)
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAJAN GUPTA
Present:
Mr. K.S. Sidhu, Advocate, for the applicant. Mr. Ranjit Singh Sidhu, Advocate, for the respondent. **** Rajan Gupta, J. (Oral) This is a petition seeking transfer of proceedings initiated by the respondent-husband under Section 9 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 (for short 'the Act') from the court at Dhuri to Bathinda. It has been urged before the court that there is a distance of about 100 Kms between the two places and the applicant has a minor child to look after. However, applicant is employed as ETT Teacher and drawing fairly good salary. Proceedings being civil in nature, she may not be required to appear before the court except on one/two dates of hearing. Under the circumstances, I find no ground to transfer the proceedings from the court at Dhuri to Bathinda. Petition is hereby dismissed.
