The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to issue him passport.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner vide application dated 16.08.2023 has applied for passport. An FIR No. 20 dated 07.05.2021, under Sections 406 and 420 of IPC came to be registered against the petitioner at Police Station, NRI, SAS Nagar Mohali. The petitioner is not involved in any other offence still passport authority is not issuing him passport. Case of the petitioner is squarely covered by judgment PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2023.10.03 16:49 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

Mr. Deepanjay Sharma, DAG, Punjab, who on advance is present in Court, on instructions from ASI Sohan Singh, submits that matter is under investigation and challan is yet to be presented. 4.

Learned counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, submits that the passport authority would pass an appropriate order after considering the afore-stated judgment within six weeks.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.
