**** Rajan Gupta, J. (Oral) This is a petition seeking transfer of proceedings initiated by husband-respondent under Section 9 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, (for short 'the Act') from the court at Amritsar to Patiala. It is urged before the court that certain litigation is already pending at Patiala. Applicant has a minor daughter and is dependent upon her parents. Besides, the distance between the two places is about 150 Kms. Thus, it would not be possible for the applicant-wife to effectively defend the proceedings at Amritsar.

Keeping in view facts and circumstances of the case, it is directed that proceedings under Section 9 of the Act at Amritsar be transferred to a court of co-ordinate jurisdiction at Patiala. The petition is allowed in these terms.
