The petitioner has approached this Court seeking grant of anticipatory bail in respect of a case registered against him vide FIR No. 72, dated 9.7.2019, Police Station Sadar Gurdaspur, District Gurdaspur, under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 IPC, wherein the allegations are broadly to the effect that the petitioner had cheated 25 persons and had deprived each of them of an amount of Rs.25,000/- each on the pretext of sending them to Kuwait for pursuing different trades.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the matter has been amicably resolved with about 15 of the affected persons and that he is in the process of compromising with the remaining persons as well and that in fact the FIR came to be lodged on account of some misunderstanding.

Learned State counsel, upon instructions from SI Rajesh Kumar, has informed that pursuant to interim directions, the petitioner has since joined investigation and that the petitioner has otherwise compromised the matter with about 10-12 persons. It has also been informed that challan already stands presented and charges have already been framed.
