(Oral) The petitioners have approached this Court seeking protection of their life and liberty on the premise that petitioner No.1 has performed marriage with petitioner No.2 against the wishes of her parents and other family members and the petitioners are apprehending threat to their life and liberty at their instance.
Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that a representation dated 03.11.2022 was made to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala (Annexure P-4) seeking necessary protection but no action has been taken so far in the matter.

CRWP-10574-2022 -2Respondents No.4 & 6 have requested to have a meeting with petitioner No.1 Arti, daughter of respondent No.4 Sukh Ram and the case was referred to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre of this Court. The Mediator has recorded statement of petitioner No.1 Arti as well as her father-respondent No.4 Sukh Ram. Petitioner No.1 Arti has stated that she has performed marriage with petitioner No.2 Amandeep Kumar of her own sweet Will and they are living together as husband and wife at Patiala.
In the statement, respondent No.4 Sukh Ram, father of petitioner No.1, has stated that he has interacted with his daughter Arti, who is got married with petitioner No.2 Amandeep Kumar and he has no grudge against or ill-will against his daughter and will not interfere in her matrimonial life in any manner.
Without examining the question of validity or otherwise of marriage of the petitioners, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala to look into grievance of the petitioners expressed in the representation (Annexure P-4) and take appropriate action, if any, warranted in the circumstances.
