The instant petition under Section 482 of BNSS, 2023, has been filed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.0057 dated 08.07.2025, registered under Sections 305 and 3(5) of Bharatiya Nayaya Sanhita, 2023, at Police Station Verka, District Police Commissionerate Amritsar.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has joined the investigation and his custodial interrogation is no more required in this case.

Status report by way of an affidavit of Dr. Sheetal Singh, PPS, Assistant Commissioner of Police, East, Amritsar, filed by learned State counsel, is taken on record.

Learned State counsel has not refuted the aforesaid assertions made by learned counsel for the petitioner and, on instructions from ASI Jagtar Singh further submits that the petitioner is not required by the police for further investigation or custodial interrogation. 5.

In view of the above, without commenting on the merits of the case, the present petition is allowed and order of interim bail dated 19.08.2025 is hereby made absolute subject to the conditions as provided under Section 482(2) of the BNSS, 2023.
