Upon a call given by Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association, the Members of the Bar are abstaining from work. 2.
By virtue of the present petition under Section 482 BNSS, petitioner, an accused in case bearing FIR No.96 dated 19.07.2025 registered under Sections 115(2), 118(1), 333 and 351(2) of BNS at Police Station Bhogpur, District Jalandhar, has prayed for grant of pre-arrest bail. 3.
Status Report dated 15.12.2025 by way of affidavit of Mr. Rajiv Kumar, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar, has been placed on record. In para 6 thereof, the factum of petitioner having joined the investigation has been mentioned. It has further been mentioned that recovery of alleged weapon used for offence has also been effected at the instance of petitioner.

On 11.09.2025, following order was passed by this Court:- <Petitioner, an accused, in case FIR No.96 dated 19.07.2025 registered against him for commission of offences punishable under Sections 115(2), 118(1), 333 & 351(2) of BNS, at Police Station Bhogpur District Jalandhar, Punjab, has filed the present petition for grant of anticipatory bail. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in the present case. In the heat of the moment, verbal altercation was followed by a physical assault, in which sister-in-law of the petitioner (sister of his wife) and his mother-in-law suffered simple injuries. Learned counsel further submits that petitioner, whose past antecedents are quite clean, is ready and willing to join the investigation as and when called for by the Investigation Officer.
Mr. Kamalpreet Bawa, DAG Punjab has filed a detailed status report today in Court and the same is taken on record. The factum of injuries suffered by the injured having been declared 8as simple9 has been endorsed by the State.
Heard.
In view of the aforesaid submissions, the petitioner is directed to join the investigation as and when required to do so by the Investigating Agency. In the event of his arrest, the petitioner shall be released on ad-interim bail, subject to his furnishing bail bonds to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer. The petitioner shall also be abide by all the conditions laid down under Section 482(2) of BNSS, 2023 (earlier Section 438(2) Cr.P.C.).

Keeping in view the fact that petitioner has joined the investigation, interim bail granted vide order dated 11.09.2025 is hereby confirmed, subject to conditions as envisaged under Section 482(2) BNSS. Further the petitioner is directed to join investigation as and when required in future by way of written notice for such purpose to be served by Investigating Officer of this case upon the petitioner; he will neither tamper with the evidence nor will influence the witnesses and nor will leave the country without prior permission of the Court. 6.
The petition stands allowed.
