CWP-24328-2024 Petition herein is, inter alia, for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to release the monthly allowance/honorarium of 5 years to the petitioner being a Sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat, Village Thikriwal, District Gurdaspur along with 18% interest.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that for redressal of grievance of the petitioner, he has submitted legal notice dated 04.05.2024 (Annexure P-5), but the same has not been adverted to by the concerned authorities, till date.

Learned State counsel submits that respondent No.2 (Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Gurdaspur)/competent authority shall take decision either way, on the pending legal notice dated 04.05.2024 (Annexure P-5) of the petitioner within a period of three months from today.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, keeping in view the aforesaid submissions made by learned State counsel, submits that he does not intend to press the instant writ petition any further, at this stage. 6.

Keeping in view the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties and without commenting on the merits of the case, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 (Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Gurdaspur)/competent authority to consider and decide legal notice dated 04.05.2024 (Annexure P-5) of the petitioner by way of passing a speaking order, after affording due opportunity of hearing to all the concerned parties, within a period of three months from today.
