(Oral) Petitioner No.1 - Rajwinder Kaur, aged about 26 years, and petitioner No.2 - Gurwinder Singh, aged more than 24 years, have filed present petition for seeking protection of their lives and liberty, which is at risk at the hands of private respondents No.4 to 6. Counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner No.1 - Rajwinder Kaur, was earlier married to one Sachpreet Singh (respondent No.4), but subsequently, she started living separately with petitioner No.2 in a live-in relationship.

Short reply dated 03.04.2023, by way of affidavit of DSP, Kalanaur, Gurdaspur, on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3, has been filed by learned State counsel in Court today, which is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions. Office to tag the same at appropriate place. A copy thereof has been handed over to the counsel for the petitioners.

Learned State counsel refers to para No.3, which says as under:- JAWALA RAM 2023.04.11 16:44 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgement.

That it is humbly submitted that the petitioners had filed a petition in the Hon'ble Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh to protect the life and liberty. The directions have been issued to the deponent and SHOP Police Station Kalanaur to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners. SHOP Police Station Kalanaur submitted his report that the petitioner No.1 namely Rajwinder Kaur got recorded her statement to ASI Nirmal Singh of Police Station Kalanaur on 23.03.2023 that she does not require any police protection. The true translated statement of the petitioner No.1 is annexed herewith as Annexure R-1/T."

Faced with the situation, counsel for the petitioners seeks permission to withdraw present petition.

Dismissed as withdrawn.
