On 13.08.2025, following order was passed by this Court:- "The petitioners through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking direction to respondent to release gratuity and leave encashment and pay interest on delayed release of provident fund.

The petitioner No.1 (in short 'petitioner') is widow of late Dr. Rahul Sharma who passed away on 06.12.2015 while in service. The petitioner is presently serving as Associate Professor in PGIMER Chandigarh. Her husband joined Panjab University in May' 2007 and he was appointed as Reader in July' 2010. After the demise of her husband, the petitioner claimed terminal dues of her husband. The respondent released a sum of Rs.11,87,384/- towards provident fund. The said amount was released on 08.03.2022 which was without interest. The petitioner is DEEPAK BISSYAN 2025.08.26 16:39 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Mr. Ankur Sharma, Advocate who on advance notice is present in Court, filed his Vakalatnama on behalf of Panjab University. The same is taken on record. Registry is directed to tag the same at appropriate place. He seeks time to clarify actual position with respect to payment of retiral/terminal dues.
