The petitioner seeks issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect her life and liberty as well as of other members of her family as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of the private respondents. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that petitioner's son had earlier solemnized marriage with respondent No.7 - Mohni Kaur, but on account of some matrimonial discord, the marriage was dissloved by a decree of divorce. It has been submitted that ever since grant of divorce, respondent No.7 and her relatives, who are private respondents, have been threatening the petitioner to cause harm to her. It has further been submitted that although a representation dated 10.9.2024 (Annexure P-1) was submitted to respondent No.2 - The Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur, but to no avail.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner, but without commenting anything as regards merits of the case or as regards veracity of averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed off with a direction to respondent No.2 - The Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur to look into the matter and to get the representation dated 10.9.2024 (Annexure P-1) examined qua the alleged threat perception of the petitioner as well as of other members of her family. In case, it is found that there is any gunine threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner as well as of other members of her family, then necessary steps as may be warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest.

A copy of this order alongwith copy of representation dated 10.9.2024 (Annexure P-1) be sent to respondent No.2 - The Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur for necessary compliance.
