Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for directing respondents No.1 to 3 to provide protection to the life and liberty of the petitioners and to ensure the freedom to the petitioners as the petitioners apprehends their life and liberty in danger the hands of respondents No.4 to 7 and their relatives as the petitioners are facing hard opposition from respondents No.4 to 7 and other relatives as they are strongly opposing the relationship of the petitioners and further restrain the private respondents from interfering in the life of the petitioners. It is further prayed to direct respondents No.
2 and 3 not to harass or interfere in the peaceful life of the petitioners at the instance of respondents and not to harass or interfere in the peaceful life of the petitioners at the instance of respondents and not to intrude into the privacy of the petitioners by raiding their house again and again and calling the family members of petitioner No.2 into the police Station to force them to produce petitioners No.1 and 2 and further not to implicate the petitioners in false case at the instance of MEENU 2024.09.

It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that petitioner No.1 was earlier married with respondent No.7 forcibly in the month of August 2024 though she wanted to marry petitioner No.2 whereas petitioner No.2 is unmarried. He submits that both the petitioners were in relationship from the last more than four years and now they are living together in live-in-relationship They apprehend danger from respondents No.4 to 7. The petitioners have submitted a representation, dated 21.09.2024 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2.

On the asking of the Court, Mr.Tarun Aggarwal, Sr.DAG, Punjab. who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents/State.

Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of the petition with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Amritsar, to decide the representation (Annexure P-3) of the petitioners and grant them protection, if any threat to their life and liberty is perceived. It is clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioners from legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by them. This order would not be understood having expressed any opinion whatsoever by this Court on the validity of their live-in-relationship. September 24, 2024 ( RAJESH BHARDWAJ ) meenuss JUDGE 1.
