The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking directions to respondent No. 2 to issue passport.

The petitioner applied for passport on 05.08.2022 and appeared before the authorities on 17.10.2022. The petitioner has not been issued passport on account of adverse police report. An FIR No.64 dated 08.09.2021, under Sections 306, 506, 34 of IPC at Police Station Ballianwali was registered against the petitioner, however, the petitioner has been found innocent in the said FIR. The petitioner was involved in another FIR, however, the said FIR has been quashed vide order dated 01.05.2019 passed by this Court.

Learned counsel for Union of India submits that application of the petitioner has already been closed and if petitioner files a fresh application, it would be considered and an appropriate order would be passed within six weeks thereafter.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.
