The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent to accept his request for voluntary retirement.

The petitioner joined Punjab Police as Constable on 26.04.1990. He has completed 35 years service with unblemished service record. He has filed an application seeking voluntary retirement. He filed representation dated 06.02.2025 disclosing reasons for seeking voluntary retirement. He has served legal notice dated 22.07.2025 upon the respondent with respect to his request for voluntary retirement.
