The present petition has been filed inter alia praying for protection of life and liberty of the petitioners, who are claiming themselves to be in a live-in relationship and could not get married only for the reason that the petitioner No. 2-boy, though a major, but has yet not attained the age of marriage, which he will attain on 03.02.2024 and thereafter, they both will get married.

Vide order dated 09.10.2023, the matter had been relegated to the Mediation Centre but the parents of petitioner No. 1 have not agreed for any resolution and hence, the Mediation failed. 3.

In light of the above, respondents No. 2 and 3 are directed to consider the representation (Annexure P-3) filed by the petitioners and take appropriate steps if so required.

As a matter of abundant caution, respondent No. 3 is also directed to inform and get the statements of the parents of petitioner No. 2 recorded with regard to the relationship of their son, so that there is no untoward incident takes place at a later stage. 5.

With the above directions, the present petition stands disposed of.

It is made clear that filing or pendency of this petition or any order/direction passed in this petition shall not be an alibi or defence to the petitioners, in case, they are found involved in any illegal activity and the respondent-Authorities shall take appropriate action, in accordance with law.
