**** JASJIT SINGH BEDI, J. (Oral) The present criminal writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of Writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus, and for appointment of a Warrant Officer to search for the detenue, namely, Amandeep Kaur wife of Gurdeep Singh. Petitioner is stated to be in illegal custody of respondent Nos.4 to 7. Short reply has been filed on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3 by the learned State counsel by way of an affidavit of Pritpal Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Sardulgarh, District Mansa and the same is taken on record.

While referring to the reply dated 27.10.2023, learned State counsel submits that the statement of the alleged detenue namely Amandeep Kaur has been recorded under Section 164 (Annexure R-3) in which, she has stated that she wishes to reside with her parents and not with the petitioner. In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed by this Court.

Disposed of.
