Tribhuvan Dahiya, J (Oral) The petition has been filed, inter alia, seeking a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioners' claim for deputation as PGT Punjabi teacher with Education Department, U.T. Chandigarh.

Learned State counsel on instructions received from the Director Secondary Education, vide memo dated 24.10.2024, contends that petitioners' names were not recommended to the Chandigarh Administration due to shortage of teachers in the Department.

Learned counsel for third respondent-Chandigarh Administration contends that the matter has been rendered infructuous as vide order, dated 04.10.2024, PGT Punjabi teacher has already been taken on deputation.
