(ORAL) On the last date of hearing, it had been submitted by the learned counsel that since the occurrence in question had taken place within the premises of Judicial Court Complex, Rupnaar, none of the local lawyers including anyone from the District Legal Services Authority was willing to represent the petitioner during trial. In the circumstances, a report had been called for from the learned trial Court concerned.

Report has been received in compliance of order dated 13.02.2025. It transpires on a perusal of the report that incorrect submissions were made on the last date of hearing by the counsel for the petitioner that none from the District Legal Services Authority was willing to represent the petitioner; rather no such application had been moved by the petitioner before the District Legal Services Authority, Rupnagar, for engaging Legal Aid Counsel to represent him before the PUNEET SACHDEVA 2025.03.11 12:15 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh
