The petitioners, who are serving as Assistant Sub Inspectors/Head Constables in the Punjab Police, have approached this Court seeking a writ in the nature of mandamus so as to direct the official respondents to step-up their pay to bring the same at par with the pay of juniors to the petitioners. 2.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Inderpreet Singh Kang, AAG, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent - State. He has submitted that the claim of the petitioners shall be considered in accordance with rules and legal precedents.
