Instant writ petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, inter alia for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.2 to 4, to complete the process of backlog entry of paper-based driving license of the petitioner. 2.
Counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner possesses a driving license, which is valid upto 28.10.2024, and he had applied for No Objection Certificate from respondent No.4, for its renewal. He submits that the backlog entry of paper-based driving license is to be uploaded on the online portal of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, however, it has not been done. He submits that petitioner has served a legal notice dated 16.07.2024, Annexure P5, upon the respondents before approaching this Court. 3.

Given the nature of order being passed, this Court does not deem it necessary to call for a response from the respondents. 6.
Considering that the legal notice, Annexure P-5, submitted by the petitioner, is pending, and his license is going to expire in the last week of October, 2024, writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.4, to decide the legal notice, Annexure P-5, within a fortnight from the date of communication of this order.

In case, the legal notice is to be rejected, the same be done by passing a reasoned order.
