The instant petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent No.2 to renew the arms license bearing No.DM/TRN/DUP/SRHI/0617/658 as the petitioner applied for renewal of the same by way of moving an application dated 13.12.2022 (Annexure P-2), but no action has been taken thereupon. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had been issued arms license about 20 years back and he had been getting it renewed periodically and that it was lastly renewed w.e.f. 1.1.2020 upto 31.12.2022. It has been submitted that although the petitioner applied for its renewal by moving an application dated 13.12.2022 (Annexure P-2), but till date no action has been taken thereupon. It has further been submitted that subsequently the petitioner also made a representation dated 27.3.2023 Pankaj Kakkar 2023.10.11 17:49 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner but without commenting anything as regards the veracity of averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Tarn Taran, District Tarn Taran, to consider and dispose of the representation dated 27.3.2023 (Annexure P-7) in accordance with law expeditiously.
