The petitioner is seeking the concession of bail under Section 483 of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 in case FIR No.170 dated 16.08.2017 under Sections 302, 397, 148, 149 of the IPC registered at Police Station Division No.6, District Ludhiana. 2.
Learned State counsel, at the outset, submits that in the instant case the trial is nearing conclusion as the entire evidence of both the prosecution as well as the defence stand recorded. It has been further submitted that the next date fixed before the trial Court is 28.10.2024. 3.
Learned counsel for the petitioner, in the circumstances, does not press the instant petition. However, he prays that since the petitioner has been in custody for the last more than 07 years having been arrested on 16.08.2017, directions be issued to the trial Court to positively conclude the trial at the earliest in the wake of the long custody period of the petitioner. 4.
I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have perused the relevant material placed on record.

In view of the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the instant petition is hereby dismissed as not pressed. However, the trial Court is directed to conclude the trial at the earliest, preferably on or before 31.12.2024.
