The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No. 2 to re-issue him passport with correct date of birth.

The petitioner was issued passport wherein date of birth of the petitioner was recorded as 01.02.1988 whereas correct date of birth of the petitioner is 16.09.1989. All the documents of the petitioner are disclosing that date of birth of the petitioner is 16.09.1989, thus, the passport is not synchronized with other documents. The petitioner is having matriculation certificate which consists of date of birth.

Learned counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, submits that the petitioner may be directed to appear before passport authority with all requisite documents which after getting report PARAMJIT KAUR SAINI 2023.10.13 15:06 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statements of both sides, the petition stands disposed of. The petitioner is directed to appear before passport authority on 02.11.2023 alongwith requisite documents and thereafter the passport authority would pass an appropriate order expeditiously.
