(ORAL) Prayer in the writ petition is for issuing direction to respondents to grant revised House Rent Allowance along with interest @18% w.e.f. 1.1.2016 to 30.07.2019 as the Government has granted revised House Rent Allowance w.e.f. 01.08.2019 instead of 01.01.2016 which is illegal and arbitrary.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that he will be satisfied if direction is issued to respondent No.2 to consider and decide representation dated 27.08.2019 (Annexure P-3) within a stipulated period. Without going into the merits and demerits of the claim of the petitioners, I deem it appropriate to direct respondent No.2 to consider and decide representation dated 27.08.2019 (Annexure P-3) within a period of two months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and pass a speaking order thereon, failing which respondent No.2 shall be liable to pay costs of `25,000/- to the petitioners.
