The present contempt petition has been filed for deliberate and intentional disobedience of order dated 03.05.2025 passed by the Coordinate Bench of this Court in CWP-12474-2025. 2.

Notice of motion.

On asking of the Court, Mr. Animesh Sharma, Addl. A.G, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. 4.

The Co-ordinate Bench of this Court had issued the following directions, vide its order dated 03.05.2025, in CWP-12474-2025:- "9.

Keeping in view the above, the present writ petition is disposed of by relegating the petitioners to approach the concerned authority with requisite proof of their title along with their entitlement to claim extra supply of water to their orchards/gardens, under the 1946 Rules, within a period of three weeks from today. In case, any such application is submitted by the petitioners, the same shall be considered on its own merits and decided within VIRENDRA SINGH ADHIKARI 2025.08.29 18:35 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Learned counsel for the respondents contends that in compliance of the order dated 03.05.2025 passed by learned Single Judge, a speaking order dated 14.08.2025 has been passed by the Superintending Engineer, Ferozepur Canal Circle, Water Resources, Ferozepur. The same is taken on record. A copy thereof is supplied to the learned counsel for the petitioners, who does not dispute the same.

In view of the above, the present contempt is purged and rule stands discharged. Needless to say that petitioners can avail any other remedy as is available to them in accordance with law to challenge the speaking order dated 14.08.2025 passed by the Superintending Engineer, Ferozepur Canal Circle, Water Resources, Ferozepur. 7.
