1. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that although the petitioner had been allotted the work for providing labour and transportation of foodgrains by the Punjab Government vide letter dated 16.9.2024 (Annexure P-2), but on account of local cartel including respondent No.8 he is not allowed to do the work as they want to monopolize the said work.

4. Without commenting anything as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Sangrur to get letter dated 19.9.2024 (Annexure P-3) examined in accordance with law. In case, it is found that there is genuine threat to life and liberty of the petitioner, then necessary steps as warranted under law be taken thereupon so that no harm is caused to the petitioner.

5. A copy of this order along with copy of letter dated 19.09.2024 (Annexure P3) be sent to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Sangrur, for necessary compliance.
