The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No. 2 to correct his date of birth in the passport.

The petitioner was issued passport on 18.01.2022. In the passport, date of birth is recorded as 09.10.1982 whereas actual date of birth is 25.02.1981. The petitioner has got corrected his date of birth in Birth Certificate, Aadhar Card and PAN Card. The petitioner has filed representation dated 11.09.2023 (Annexure P-7) seeking correction of date of birth in his passport.

Learned counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, submits that petitioner has not filed application in prescribed format, thus, representation cannot be considered. 4.

Faced with this, counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner would file an appropriate application in prescribed format which may be decided in a time bound manner.

The petition stands disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to file an appropriate application in the prescribed format.
