AT CHANDIGARH RSA No.6341 of 2017 (O&M) Date of decision:04.04.2019 Steel Strips Ltd. and another ... Appellants Vs.
Punjab State Electricity Board and others ... Respondents
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE AMIT RAWAL Present:- Mr. Akshay Bhan, Senior Advocate with Mr. Santosh Sharma, Advocate for the appellants.
AMIT RAWAL J. (Oral) During the course of hearing of regular second appeal arisen out of the concurrent finding of fact and law whereby suit of the Electricity Board for recovery of electricity charges amounting to Rs.10,65,555/-, this Court raised a specific query to Mr. Akshay Bhan, learned senior counsel regarding restoration or running of business, on instructions from Mr. Santosh Sharma, instructing counsel informed the Court that unit is running as the electric connection has been restored. The rules and regulations of the Electricity Department do not envisage any provisions of exemption and restoration without receipt of arrears of electricity charges. In such circumstances, it would totally farcical exercise in dealing with the objections claiming recovery of amount.
