NAMIT KUMAR J. (Oral) Prayer in this writ petition filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari, for quashing the order dated 18.01.2024 (Annexure P-7) passed by respondent No.3 whereby the claim of the petitioners has been rejected by respondent No.3. Further a writ of mandamus has been sought for directing the respondents to release the pending amount of gratuity along with interest @ 12% as per the amendment in the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972. Lastly, it has been prayed that the respondents be directed to implement the Notification dated 11.04.2018 issued by Government of India (Annexure P-4), which specifies that the amount of gratuity payable to an employee under the Act shall not exceed Twenty Lakhs Rupees.
