The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to respondents No. 1 & 2 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondent No. 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that the daughter of petitioners No. 1 & 2 who is also the sister of petitioners No. 3 & 4 was married to son of respondent No. 5 and they both have gone to United Kingdom, however, certain disputes have arisen there between them and complaints have been filed to harass the petitioners by the father of the boy and counter complaints have been filed by the daughter of the petitioners No. 1 & 2 qua demand of dowry etc. The petitioners also submitted a representation on 29.09.2023 (Annexure P-5), however, learned PARUL 2024.02.29 10:24 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

2024:PHHC:028059 CRWP-10132-2023 (O&M) -2counsel for the petitioners has fairly submitted that after the filing of this petition, respondent No. 5 has filed another complaint before the Senior Police Officials and now they are being time and again summoned. He also submitted that, in fact, the daughter of petitioners No. 1 & 2 has also filed a complaint in NRI Wing Ludhiana (Annexure P-3). 3.

After hearing learned counsel for the petitioners, it apparently seems that it is an ego dispute going on between the parties, which can be tried to be resolved through an amicable solution. 4.

In light of the above, the present petition stands disposed of and respondent No. 2 is directed to look into the matter and call both the parties and resolve the issue and in the meantime, the petitioners shall not unnecessarily called/summoned to the Police Station. 5.

However, this order shall not be construed as an estoppel against law and in case, the petitioners are found in violation of any law, the authorities are fully empowered to proceed in accordance with law. 6.
