(Oral) "Prayer in the instant petition, filed by the petitioner, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of directions to respondent No. 2, to provide protection of life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondents No. 3 to 5.
Status report dated 13.02.2023 by way of affidavit of Harjinder Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police,Sub-Divison Nakodar, District Jalandhar (Rural), has been filed by State counsel on behalf of respondents No. 1 and 2, in compliance with the order dated 19.12.2022, passed by this Court. Same is taken on record. Registry is directed to tag the same at appropriate place.
Relevant paragraphs No. 10 to 12 says as under: 10.
That it is respectfully submitted that another Representation was submitted for protection of Life and Liberty by Chiranji Lal (Present Petitioner) before the office the Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh as the same was endorsed with No. 1102PDGP dated 28.11.2022 and was marked by the Director General of Police, Punjab, Chandigarh to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural) for necessary action.That it is further submitted that the abovesaid representation was marked by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural) to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, (Headquarter). Jalandhar (Rural) for taking action in accordance with law and submit report. That thereafter, investigation was conducted by the Deputy Superintendent of Police. CRWP-11000-2022 (O&M) -2- (Headquarter), Jalandhar (Rural), whereby, it has been stated that on the basis of the statement of the complainant namely Chiranji Lal (Present Petitioner) that when he used to go for gazing his goats the accused namely Ajay Kumar and his father Kulwant Singh gave him threats to enter into compromise in regard to the FIR in question, otherwise they would leave him in a very bad condition. That he had an apprehension that they will attack him. It was further recommended that preventive action be taken against Ajay Kumar and Kulwant Singh under Section 107/151 Cr P.C That it is further submitted that the abovesaid report was approved by Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural) and Station House Officer, Police Station Nurmahal was directed to take necessary action as per law. That thereafter, proceedings under Section 107/151 Cr.PC were initiated against Ajay Kumar and Kulwant Singh vide DDR No. 21 dated 20.01.2023.

That it is respectfully submitted that the investigation in the present case is going on and the final report under Section 173 Cr PC will be submitted before the Ld. Trial Court in accordance with law.
12. That it is respectfully submitted that the deponent has great respect for this Hon'ble Court and the Order dated 19.12 2022 has been duly complied with. The deponent shall comply with the orders of this Hon'ble Court in future also."
In view of the action taken by the respondents-State, as mentioned in the status report, learned counsel for the petitioner does not press the present petition.
Petition stands dismissed being not pressed.
