(Oral) The petitioners have filed this petition under Articles 226/227 of Constitution of India for issuance of direction to official respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect their life and liberty from the hands of private respondents No.4 and 5. Petitioners are stated to be major and they are in live-in-relationship with each other which is against the wishes of their parents. Petitioners have an apprehension at the hands of private respondents No.4 and 5 and in this regard, they have submitted a representation dated 24.10.2019 (Annexure P-3) to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala, District Gurdaspur - respondent No.2, but no action has been taken so far.

The present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala, District Gurdaspur to look into the representation of the petitioners and decide the same and if required, provide the protection to the life and liberty of the petitioners by providing adequate security.
