The instant petition has been filed by the petitioners for directions to the respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect their life and liberty from the respondents No.4 to 8.

The learned counsel representing the petitioners submits that the petitioners have filed a representation dated 18.08.2025 (Annexure P5) before the respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala Taran. The learned counsel prays for directions to the respondent No.2 to decide the above mentioned representation within a stipulated time. 4.
Notice of motion to the respondents No.1 to 3 only. 5.
Since advance notice has already been served upon the State, Mr. Eklavya Darshi, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 and waives service. 6.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that a direction for DEEPAK KUMAR BHARDWAJ 2025.08.22 15:19 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document disposing of the representation (Annexure P5) be given to the respondent
Criminal Writ Petition No. 9067 of 2025 No.2 and the instant writ petition be disposed of. 7.
Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the present writ petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.2 to pass a speaking order and decide the representation of the petitioners (Annexure P5) within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of copy of instant order.

It is further directed that the petitioners be provided requisite safety and security for the protection of their life and liberty, if required. It is, however, clarified that any observation is not being made by this Court with regard to threat perception to the petitioners or validity of relationship of the petitioners. The police authorities of District Patiala shall be at liberty to make an independent assessment of threat perception to the petitioners and take a decision at their own level with regard to security of the petitioners.
