The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue his passport.

The petitioner was issued passport on 01.10.2009 which expired on 30.09.2019. The petitioner applied for passport with passport authority at Jaipur as well as passport authority at Chandigarh. The petitioner has withdrawn his application from passport authority at Jaipur. An FIR No. 65 dated 12.06.2010, under Sections 332, 353, 186, 181, 427, 148, 149, 395 of IPC and Section 187 of Haryana Panchayati Raj Act was registered against the petitioner at Police Station Alewa, District Jind. CWP No.23377 of 2023 -2- 2023:PHHC:152896 convicted vide judgment dated 18.07.2012. The petitioner was awarded sentence of three years. The petitioner has preferred CRA-S-2341-SB of 2012 before this Court. The sentence of the petitioner has been suspended vide order dated 14.09.2012 passed by this Court. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that case of the petitioner is squarely covered by judgment of this Court in Mohan Lal @ Mohna vs. Union of India and others 2023 SCC Online P&H 1391  Faced with this, learned counsel for Union of India states that application of the petitioner would be expeditiously processed and, in any case, disposed of within four weeks from today, in accordance with law. 5.

In the wake of statement of learned counsel for Union of India, petition stands disposed of.
