certain clarifications with respect to an adverse Police Verification Report; however, the petitioner has not responded to the same till date. It is further submitted that a Discreet Enquiry Report concerning the petitioner from the Senior Superintendent of Police, S.A.S. Nagar, Mohali, is still awaited. 4.

At this stage, learned State counsel submits that the Discreet Enquiry Report in respect of the petitioner shall be forwarded to the concerned/competent passport authority within a period of four weeks from today.

Learned counsel for respondents No.1 and 3 further submits that upon receipt of the Discreet Enquiry Report from the State authorities, the concerned/competent passport authority shall consider and take a final decision on the petitioner's application for renewal of passport, after also taking into account the reply, if any, submitted by the petitioner to the Show Cause Notice, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of the said Discreet Enquiry report.

Keeping in view the aforesaid submissions made by learned counsel for respondents No.1 and 3 as well as learned State counsel, no further orders are required to be passed in the present writ petition and the same is, accordingly, disposed of.
