IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA

AT CHANDIGARH T.A. No. 689 of 2018 DATE OF DECISION :- December 13, 2018 Sukhpreet Kaur @ Myra ...Applicant

Versus

Mani Arora

...Respondent

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE H.S. MADAAN Present:- Mr.S.K. Arya, Advocate for Mr. Sahil Khunger, Advocate for the applicant. Mr. Sanjay Jain, Advocate for the respondent. *** Learned counsel for the respondent has furnished short affidavit of Sh. Parshotam Arora, father of deceased Mani Arora along with copy of death certificate of Mani Arora.

By way of filing the present application, Sukhpreet Kaur @ Myra, wife of Mani Arora seeks transfer of divorce petition titled 'Mani Arora versus Sukhpreet Kaur @ Myra' pending in the Court of Ms. Rajni Chhokra, Additional District Judge, Amritsar to any other Court of competent jurisdiction at Ludhiana. Since Mani Arora has expired, the divorce petition filed by him has abated and there is no occasion for transfer of that petition from the Court of Additional District Judge, Amritsar to any other Court of competent jurisdiction at Ludhiana. Therefore, the Transfer Application has become infructuous and is dismissed accordingly.
