(ORAL) The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus for appointment of Warrant Officer to get the son of the petitioner namely, Jarman Singh, aged about 22 years, resident of village Chambal, Tehsil and District Tarn Taran released from the illegal custody of respondent No.3. At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner does not wish to press this petition as the alleged detenue namely, Jarman Singh, is at home safe and sound. On the other hand, learned State counsel requests for a short adjournment so as to enable him to file a status report as due to some mis-communication, it could not be filed well in time.
