The present petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been filed for quashing of FIR No.147 dated 24.06.2010, registered under Sections 152, 324, 323, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, (for short, 'IPC'), at Police Station Patran, District Patiala, and all other consequential proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise arrived at between the parties.

Vide order dated 24.11.2022, the parties were directed to appear before the learned trial Court/Illaqa Magistrate, for getting their statements recorded; as to the genuineness of the compromise. Learned counsel for the respondent-State has filed the reply by way of affidavit of Gurdeep Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Circle Patran, District Patiala, on behalf of the respondent-State, stating therein that in the cross-version case, cancellation report regarding the FIR in question has been filed before the Trial Court way back in the year 2011. The said reply is taken on record.

In view of the above, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that he be permitted to withdraw the present petition. 5.
