Learned counsel for the petitioners contended that the petitioners have already been granted anticipatory bail in FIR No.0002 dated 12.03.2025, under Sections 420, 406, 120-B of IPC and 24 of Emigration Act, 1983 registered at police Station NRI, District Sangrur. However, they were subsequently called to the police station, where the SHO concerned is allegedly pressurizing them to compromise the matter and to return the money, which they never received.

Mr. Subhash Godara, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, accepted the notice on behalf of respondent-State and submitted that accused were called by the Investigating officer for the investigation purpose. As some of the co-accused are residing abroad, the petitioners were called to ascertain their whereabouts, however, they did not cooperate in the investigation. It is further submitted that recovery of money has already been effected in this case and custodial interrogation of the petitioners is not required.

Accordingly, at this stage, without commenting on the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 2 to take a decision on the representation submitted on behalf of the petitioner in accordance with law.
