Seeking issuance of necessary direcƟons to the respondents No.2 to 7 to protect the life and liberty of the peƟƟoner, the peƟƟoner has come up before this Court under ArƟcle 226 of ConsƟtuƟon of India. 2.

Short reply by way of affidavit filed by State counsel is taken on record. A copy thereof has been supplied to counsel for the peƟƟoner. State counsel submits that in pursuance of order dated 14.10.2024, one PSO was granted to the peƟƟoner for one week.

Counsel for the peƟƟoner submits that the peƟƟoner apprehends threat from infamous gangster whose name has been menƟoned as respondent No.8. 4.

Given above, the Commissioner of Police to review the threat percepƟon and if in his opinion, the percepƟon is found to be true, he may extend the protecƟon. However, it is clarified that such protecƟon shall not be granted on the basis of this order, however may be granted on the basis of assessment carried out by the Commissioner of Police and delegated authoriƟes.
