1. By way of filing the instant petition, the petitioner seeks issuance of direction in the nature of Mandamus for directing the respondents to transfer/allot the fair price licence to the petitioner.

2. Learned State counsel submits that the petitioner would not be covered under the policy concerned pertaining to transfer of the 'ration depot', mainly on account of the fact that he does not fulfil the criteria as regards the prescribed age and happens to be aged more than 50 years. Learned State counsel submits that since the requisite application has already been received from the petitioner seeking transfer of the depot, the same shall be disposed of in accordance with law by passing a speaking order within 2 weeks from today. In view of the aforestated position, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent concerned to consider and dispose of application dated 14.9.2023 (Annexure P-2) in accordance with law by passing a speaking order expeditiously preferably within a period of 2 weeks from today.
