(ORAL) The petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondents no.1 to 4 to arrest the accused persons and present final report in case FIR no.57 dated 12.07.2024 registered under Sections 118(1), 351, 3(5), 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 (later on added Section 109 BNS), at Police Station Julkan, District Patiala. It has also been alleged by the petitioner, who is one of the injured, that he is being pressurised by the police to compromise the matter.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from Sub Inspector Sham Lal, submits that investigation in the case is going on and one of the accused has already been arrested; he has now been released on regular bail. The other co-accused Jeevan Singh whose anticipatory application has been rejected on 08.07.2025, is still at large, and raids have been conducted on his premises to take him in custody. This is the reason investigation could not be completed. CRM-M-46840-2025 -2compromise the matter at the instance of fifth respondent are unfounded. He has never been called to the police station, nor contacted by any of the official respondents. No material to that effect has been placed on record either. 3.

Apparently, investigation of the case is going on, and efforts to nab the accused are also on, as raids have been conducted. Accordingly, at this stage, the petition is disposed of directing the respondents to conclude the investigation and present the final report, in accordance with law. 4.

The petitioner will be at liberty to approach the Court again in case investigation is not completed without wasting time and/or any other illegality is committed by respondents no.1 to 4.
