The prayer in the instant criminal writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of a direction to respondents No. 1 to 3 to decide representation of the petitioners dated 20.08.2025 (Annexure P-5) and to protect their lives and liberty; and to restrain private respondents No.4 and 5 from harassing or interfering in their peaceful married life.

In this regard, this Court has already given the directions in Asha and another vs. State of Haryana and another, CWP No.6717 of 2009, decided on 25.07.2012 and in compliance of the same, the State Government had taken steps to protect the life and liberty of run away couple.

Apart from that the State of Punjab vide notification dated SEEMA 2025.08.27 18:54 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

 

  23.01.2025 also notified the SOPs for the protection of life and liberty of the petitioners in similar conditions, in compliance of the Criminal Writ Petition No.12562 of 2023 titled as Kajal Vs. State of Haryana and others". 4.

In the light of the above directions, the petitioner is directed to approach the concerned authorities.
