The petitioners through instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India are seeking direction to respondents to permit them to continue till the age of 60 years.

The petitioners are working with respondent-State of Punjab as 'Home Guards'. The petitioner No. 1 is going to retire on 11.11.2024 and petitioner No. 2 on 04.05.2025 on attaining the age of 58 years. They are claiming that they should be permitted to continue till 60 years like Home Guards of U.T., Chandigarh.

On being confronted with order dated 03.09.2024 passed by this Court in CWP-18981-2024, learned counsel for the petitioners seeks permission to withdraw the present petition with liberty to challenge policy/circular of Punjab State Government.
