RITU BAHRI ACJ. (Oral) Prayer in this writ petition is for quashing of impugned order dated 03.10.2023 (Annexure P-7) passed by respondent No.3, whereby respondent-college filled the vacant NRI seat for the Course of Bachelor of Fine Arts for the academic session 2023-24 while considering respondent No.4 more eligible, ignoring the petitioner. Short reply dated 08.12.2023 by way of affidavit of Professor Dr. Alka Jain, Principal, Government College of Arts, Sector 10-C, Chandigarh has been filed in the Court. The same is taken on record. 2023:PHHC:161178-DB CWP-24779-2023 In para 4 of the said short reply, it has been clarified that there is no conversion of a general category seat into an NRI category seat. It is also mentioned that only one seat for NRI category has been reserved for the BFA Course Sculpture as per letter dated 27.02.2008 (Annexure R3/1). It is also mentioned that from the last 15 years i.e. from 2008-2009 onwards, one seat under the NRI category has been reserved for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Course, which is currently occupied by private respondent No.4 and no other seat is vacant.
In view of the said short reply, no cause of action survives and therefore no further directions are required to be given in the present writ petition.
The writ petition stands dismissed.
