The petitioners seek grant of anticipatory bail in respect of FIR No.16 dated 14.5.2017 registered under Sections 406, 498-A IPC, Police Station Women, District Amritsar.

Petitioner No.1-Taranjit Singh is present in person and so is respondent No.2-Balneet Gujral. Upon being quizzed, they have stated that they have buried their differences and have been residing together since last about 1 year and wished to continue with their relationship as husband and wife. Respondent No.2 has stated that she has no objection, in case the present petition is accepted as she is presently residing with her husband i.e. petitioner No.1 happily.

Learned State counsel has informed that pursuant to interim directions issued vide order dated 23.6.2017, the petitioners have joined investigation and are no longer required for any further investigation. 4.
Learned counsel representing complainant has today filed copy of settlement agreement, which is taken on record. 5.
In view of the aforesaid position, where the parties have amicably resolved their issues and are residing together and the petitioners have already joined investigation and their custodial interrogation is not warranted, the petition is accepted and the interim directions issued vide dated 23.6.2017 by this Court are hereby made absolute subject to the condition that the petitioners would appear before Investigating Officer as and when called upon to do so and cooperate with the Investigating Officer and shall also abide by the conditions as provided under Section 438 (2) Cr.P.C.
