  petitioner is claiming pension on the ground that on the date of superannuation, he was under suspension. This Court finds that the petitioner was involved in a case registered under Section 302 IPC and he was convicted on 06.08.1996 and sentenced to undergo life imprisonment. On the date when he superannuated, he was serving life imprisonment and therefore, he cannot be granted pension as it would be deemed to have been dismissed from service after having been punished with life imprisonment. Keeping in view the above, no case for grant of pension is made out and accordingly, the present petition is dismissed. 1. /
