Prayer is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case bearing in FIR No. 107 dated 29.07.2025, registered under Sections 318(4) and 349 of BNS 2023, at Police Station Moonak, District Sangrur. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case. Neither any recovery is to be effected from him nor there is any direct evidence to link the pettioner. The entire case is built up only on the basis of disclosure statement, which is inadmissible in law. It is further urged that maximum punishment provided for the offence is up to seven years and, therefore, custodial interrogation is not warranted.

From the perusal of record and the submissions of learned counsel for the parties, it comes out that the allegation against the present petitioner is that he is actively involved in the sale and supply of spurious salt (alleged to be Tata Salt). He is required for custodial interrogation. In such circumstances, this Court is of the considered view that no case is made out for exercise of the discretionary relief of anticipatory bail in favour of the petitioner.
