Through this 2nd petition, petitioner seeks grant of regular bail in case FIR No. 133 dated 21.09.2021, under Section 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (for short 'the Act'), registered at Police Station Bassi Pathana, District Fatehgarh Sahib.

One of the main ground for seeking bail is that trial is not proceedings at a decent pace.

Learned State counsel, on instructions from SI Angrej Singh, submits that recovery in the present case is of commercial quantity; that trial is progressing and out of twelve prosecution witnesses eight have been examined, three given up and only one more is to be examined. The next date of hearing before the trial Court is 25.08.2023 and that earnest efforts would be made to conclude the trial within four weeks from the date fixed before the trial Court. 4.
In view of the statement given by learned State counsel, learned counsel for petitioner does not press the instant petition, at this stage.

There is no doubt that in case a request is made before the Court concerned for accommodating the date for concluding the trial, the same would be considered in accordance with law. 7.
